Jean Raphael Ambron “RAFF” has been in the film business since the heady days of 2006, starting out as a humble set intern and eventually working his way up the ladder through a series of Machiavellian schemes and betrayals. An emmy award winner, he's now making the most interesting movies in the world of nerdom from his home base in Brooklyn, New York.

Raff revels in weird horror movies, weirder sci-fi movies, and also the movie adaptation of Predator - the greatest movie of all time. He has lived and studied in New York. His interests include drawing, video games, long walks in the countryside, and getting lost in the world of YouTube videos.

Raff's former company, Act Zero Films, has provided production services on films such as New York Export: Opus Jazz directed by Jody Lee Lipes and Henry Joost, Martha Marcy May Marlene directed by Sean Durkin (official selection Sundance 2011 winner of the “Best Director” award, official selection at Cannes) and commercial spots for Sephora, Porsche, Mercedes, and Starbucks.

Act Zero Film productions includes the short films The Fort, directed by Andrew Renzi (Sundance 2012), Teacher of the Year (Tribeca Film Festival 2012), and KARAOKE!, directed by Andrew Renzi (Sundance 2013), and the features Blumenthal (Santa Barbara 2013), starring Brian Cox and Directed by Seth Fisher, All That I Am (SXSW 2013), directed by Carlos Puga, and his latest project Bluebird (Tribeca 2013), directed by Lance Edmands and starring John Slattery, Amy Morton, and Louisa Krause.

Raff's films have won multiple accolades as mentioned above to include the "Prix de Jeunesse"from the Cannes Film Festival, the Grand Jury prize from the Black American Film Festival, and multiple selections at The Sundance Film Festival. Raff's film "Burma" received a special Grand Jury prize at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival, Raff also won an Emmy for Best Sports Documentary for "Lost and Found: '73 Knicks Championship Tape.
